What a fun and boudoir filled weekend!!
It started bright and early on Saturday morning in a stunning little Farmhouse Airbnb with natural lighting in every corner, rugged wood details, and plenty of country views. The day of the shoots consisted of getting hair and makeup done, sipping on some delicious Mimosas, enjoying some lite snacks, and jamming out to some fun music. Our amazing hair and makeup stylist Candíce did such a great job portraying each woman’s inner beauty on the outside with stunningly gorgeous waves, sultry lip colors, and dramatic lashes.
The reason we chose to do a military boudoir session is a very personal one for me. My father went off to the Vietnam War, while stationed there my father carried a photo of my mother around with him at all times, my father loved this photo so much that in 1969 during his time in Vietnam he found a local artist to recreate this photo into a beautiful drawing. This drawing is very special to my family, I remember my father keeping it in a special memories box during my childhood and only getting it out to show us a handful of times.(see last photo below) Seeing how special this drawing is to my family we felt that every soldier deserves to have a piece of art dedicated to their loved ones to carry with them.
Who doesn’t love a military shoot? We had eight incredibly gorgeous ladies come for military themed photo sessions. Each woman had a different reason for booking a session, some were surprising their loved ones who are currently deployed and others as a special thank you for their service. But every woman pointed out their photo session was a special moment for them to feel amazing especially when having a loved one deployed while also keeping life together at home, they deserved to feel like the awesome women they are!
We had one special lady who lost over 140 pounds and wanted to show off her stunning body that she worked so hard for. We had another woman who’s husband is currently stationed in Poland but will soon be transferring to Germany. She told us that while he is stationed in Germany that he will be unable to receive any form of mail, so she wants the last care package he can receive to be special, and we could not agree more! There was also one other woman who brought her sweet newborn with her to the shoot, while getting her hair and makeup styled she informed us that her husband has been deployed during her whole pregnancy and has yet to meet their five month old newborn.
Boudoir sessions like these are a very fun experience that allow woman to not only show their admiration for the service their loved ones give for this country but celebrate and pamper themselves.
This was such an amazing first stop on the Mini Marathon Tour, we travel about every three months, next on the list is Miami in November.
See you in Miami!!
