The sexy, sometimes revealing photography inspired by the French word for a woman’s dressing room has been on the rise in recent years.
That’s right. You know what I’m talking about… boudoir.
Boudoir photography has grown in popularity for many reasons. But the question is why? It’s been around for decades, yet, we’ve really just started to see it take off in the last 10 years.
The simple answer is, women are discovering that they’re beautiful, and are treating themselves to boudoir sessions because they’re confident enough to do so.
They are unremorsefully embracing their bodies and deciding to mark special occasions like anniversaries, birthdays, life milestones (such as pregnancy and weight loss), with boudoir. Some women even use it as a way to celebrate overcoming domestic violence or breast cancer.
In many ways, a boudoir experience is basically a spa day.
This is a day women can relax and be pampered while being treated like a queen as she poses in front of the camera. Then, once the session is over, she leaves refreshed, confident, and with stunning images of her glamorous moments at the studio.
As more and more women learn about boudoir, they’re seeing it as the empowering and body-positive experience it is. They’re becoming more open to having their photos on social media along with adorning the walls of their home.
The women of today are ready to feel good about themselves. They want (and deserve) to get glammed up and enjoy a day exclusively about them.
At my studio, your shoot will begin with some one-on-one “girl time,” where you’ll sip champagne and get your hair and makeup done by our professional stylists.
From there I’ll guide you through poses that’ll accentuate your features and curves.
I have a plethora of poses that are my go-to for every body type; this means you can relax and focus on feeling beautiful. I’ll be posing you from head to toe, I’ll even guide you on facial expressions… and, of course, if you have some poses in mind we can absolutely try them.
Either way, you’ll look stunning in every picture we capture, and you’ll feel like a queen while doing it!
No judgement. No negativity. Only you looking and feeling your best as I capture your beauty from behind the camera.
When it comes to boudoir, and everything else in life, it doesn’t matter what size you are, what your age is, or any other details you might think are important enough to keep you from having this experience. If you’re ready to take the leap, I’m ready when you are.
Boudoir isn’t for one type of woman, it’s for every type of woman. It’s about celebrating yourself–and when you see the photos, they should make you feel beautiful in every way.
They are designed to allow you to look back at a particular time in your life where you were truly able to embrace EVERY inch of yourself.
Unfortunately, there are women who want to experience their own session, but are still afraid to take the plunge. So many reach out for information, but they hold back because they’re fixated on society’s unrealistic (aka fake) standards of beauty.
To all the women out there who feel like this, I want you to know that your body is beautiful regardless of its “flaws.” Your curves, blemishes and scars tell a story–your story. A mother, a lady boss, a woman who matters and is worthy of her own boudoir session.
Your boudoir session is literally WHATEVER you want it to be. There are ZERO expectations when it comes to what you want to do during your session. You can show as little or as much as you’d like, and I’m here to make sure you look amazing while you do it.
Not only that, you’ll forget to be self-conscious as my staff and I spoil you with attention and give you the royal treatment the entire time you’re at my studio. Don’t hesitate! Schedule a call and let’s talk about your perfect session.
I’ve been a boudoir photographer for several years, and I can honestly say, the beauty and confidence boudoir shoots bring out is incredible.
At the end of the day, the biggest reason why boudoir is becoming more popular is because women are inspiring other women. Everyday women, like you and I, are the secret to making boudoir a more accepted form of self-love.
Here are images from some of the beautiful empowered women that have had their session at my studio.
Women are inspiring one another with their powerful and beautiful boudoir photos. When we share our experiences and photos we’re saying “It’s okay to feel beautiful. It’s okay to be comfortable in our own skin. It’s okay to love and invest in ourselves.”
So, if you’re ready, give my studio a call, and experience for yourself what the hype about boudoir is all about. You might just inspire someone else to do the same.
